Ashton Kutcher is no stranger to punking people, but he may have picked the wrong group to tussle with over the weekend.
At Sunday”s Academy of Country Music Awards, Kutcher, 34, donned a black 10-gallon hat and a bright red blazer for the evening as he presented the award for female vocalist of the year to Miranda Lambert.
The Two and a Half Men star also made a show of crooning part of George Strait”s “I Cross My Heart” before handing the award to Lambert, 28.
Kutcher”s antics were a hit with viewers, as he claimed 49 percent of the votes for “favorite country music wannabe” in us”s reader poll.
But the stars themselves were less amused.
“Was Ashton Kutcher making fun of country or is it just me Watching it back now and I”m kinda wondering” Lambert Tweeted after the ceremony.
Singer Justin Moore was more definitive in his criticism.
“Seen Ashton kutcher at the acms tonight,” Moore Tweeted. “What a douche! I don”t care for people making a mockery of the way country artists dress.”
On Tuesday, Kutcher took to Twitter to address the accusations, writing to Lambert: “I Am One Of The biggest country Music fans you”ve ever met. Wasn”t making fun at all.”
