With her dedication to humanitarian causes and six children Angelina Jolie is famous for her altruism.
But her life wasn”t always so positive and, in a rare acknowledgement of her wild past, the actress has opened up about her “dark and dangerous” youth.
Speaking to CBS News, the Hollywood heavyweight revealed: “I went through heavier, darker times and I survived them. I didn”t die young.
“People can imagine that I did the most dangerous (things), and I did the worst… For many reasons, I shouldn”t be here.”
The comments come as the one-time bad girl was quizzed for the show 60 Minutes, in an interview that will be broadcast on Sunday.
Before finding a soulmate in Brad Pitt, Angelina was married twice – first to actor Johnny Lee Miller, then to Billy Bob Thornton – with whom she enjoyed an intense and alternative relationship.
Now the über-mum says that her dark side still exists, but is reserved for one special person. “I still have that side of me…it”s just in its place now…it belongs to Brad, or…our adventures.”
