American Idol Reveals the Top Six

The save is gone. So, one of American Idol“s talented top seven has to go home.

After performing two songs each the night before, the remaining contestants faced elimination once again – and if they learned anything from last week”s shocking results show, it”s that no one is safe.

Despite a her comeback with “Rolling in the Deep” and “Son of a Preacher Man,” Hollie Cavanagh was the first contestant told by host Ryan Seacrest that she was in the bottom three.

The second was Elise Testone, who told Ryan she “definitely” thought the judges and mentor Jimmy Iovine were harder on her than the other contestants.

“Maybe they think I can take it more because I”m older,” she said, adding, “I can. It”s definitely disheartening a little bit because I feel like I”ve worked so hard my whole life and I”ve done so many things and I feel like a little discredited sometimes but that”s the name of the game, right You can always be better.”

And then Colton Dixon, who sang “Bad Romance” and “September,” made his first appearance in the bottom three.

And, shockingly, it was Colton who was sent home.

“I need to apologize. I wasn”t myself last night and I get it,” he said to the judges, who were shaking their heads in disbelief. “And I appreciate what you told me last night. I”ll take that when I”m making a record. And I”ll choose songs [that are right for me].”

“You”ll make many records,” Jennifer Lopez reassured him.

“You have a huge career ahead of you,” Randy Jackson added.

Next week, Elise, Hollie, Jessica Sanchez, Phillip Phillips, Joshua Ledet and Skylar Laine will be back to perform.
