There is less than a month before American Idol“s season 11 finale, and after an unpredictable couple of weeks, it”s certainly a case of anything can happen.
On Wednesday, the remaining six contestants sang their hearts out to Queen and a song of their choice, producing one of the season”s best nights so far.
Randy Jackson declared “absolutely nothing” was missing from Jessica Sanchez”s effort and Jennifer Lopez called Joshua Ledet “my favorite part” of the show.
Meanwhile, frontrunner Phillip Phillips got mixed reviews, and Hollie Cavanagh struggled slightly with Queen”s “Save Me,” but redeemed herself with Miley Cyrus”s “The Climb,” according to Randy, who exclaimed, “Hollie”s back!”
So, who went home And who”ll be around next week to sing again Keep reading to find out …
Elise Testone was eliminated on Thursday.
“I remember Stevie Nicks said she was going to hire you,” Ryan Seacrest said, referring to the singer”s effusive praise from her guest-coaching stint. “Let”s take her up on that!”
Testone didn”t have many parting words, but despite her elimination, she went out on a high note by reprising her stellar performance of Led Zeppelin”s “Whole Lotta Love.”
Cavanagh and Skylar Laine didn”t fare so well either: they were the other contestants in the bottom three.
Jimmy Iovine critiqued Cavanagh”s weak performance of her Queen cover. He also said Laine”s rendition of Jason Aldean”s “Tattoos on This Town” was “self-indulgent.”
Next week, Sanchez, Phillips, Ledet, Laine and Cavanagh will duke it out as they get one step closer to the Idol crown.
